Tour Itinerary

Day 1 TEL AVIV

Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, you will be met by Monarch-Israel representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2 TIBERIAS

Drive to the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Caesarea, once the capital of Palestine. Continue to Mt. Carmel and the Carmelite Monastery of Muhraka, where Elijah fought against the priests of Ba'al. Then on to Megiddo, the site of the Armageddon and King Solomon's Stables. Drive across the Galilee to Tiberias for overnight.

DAY 3 TIBERIAS

Take a boat across the Sea of Galilee to see the 1st-century fisherman's boat discovered in 1986. Continue to Capernaum where Jesus preached and several of his disciples had their homes. Visit the church on the Mount of Beatitudes, where the Sermon on the Mount took place, and the Church of the Multiplication at Tabgha. Return to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 4 TIBERIAS

Drive to the Upper Galilee for a visit to the ruins at Tel Dan, which date back to the days of King Solomon. Then on to Banias (Caesarea of Philippi) to see the source of the Jordan River. Return to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 5 DEAD SEA

Visit the Church of the Wedding in Cana. Continue to Nazareth and visit the Church of the Annunciation and St. Joseph's Grotto. Continue to Mt. Tabor and the location of the Transfiguration. From the top of the mountain you have an outstanding view of the Jezrael Valley. Continue to the Dead Sea and the ruins of Qumran near the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947. Continue to your Dead Sea resort hotel for overnight.

DAY 6 MITZPE RAMON

We have some leisure time this morning to use the spa at the resort and take a dip into the Dead Sea. In the late morning, depart for Masada, a natural fortress with majestic ruins overlooking the Dead Sea. Continue to Arad, Israel's newest city in the desert, then to Mitzpe Ramon for overnight.

Day 7 MITZPE RAMON

Visit the Ramon Crater Nature Reserve and Visitor Center. Then drive to the archaeological site of Avdat. Return to the Beerotaim Camp at the Great Crater for a Hafla, a traditional Bedouin lunch. Return to Mitzpe Ramon for overnight.

DAY 8 JERUSALEM

Drive to Beer Sheva and see Abraham's Well. Continue to the Lachish area on the Southern coast of Israel and participate in an archaeological dig. Drive to Jerusalem past Tzora and Eshta'ol and the Elah Valley.

DAY 9 JERUSALEM

Drive 6 miles south to Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity, the oldest church in the holy land still in use. Return to Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the ancient city. Walk down the Mount of Olives to the church of Dominus Flevit, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of Gethsemane, also knowns as The Church of All Nations. Enter the Christian Quarter of the Old City through the Lion Gate. See the Pool of Bethesda and St. Anne's Church. Walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Return to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 10 JERUSALEM

Visit the House of Chiapas, where Jesus was held prior to his trial. Continue to Mt. Zion and visit King David's Tomb and the Last Supper Room. Enter the Jewish quarter of the Old City through the Zion Gate. See the Western Wall, the Temple Steps, the Davidson Center and the Western Wall Tunnel. Return to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 11 JERUSALEM

Visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. Continue to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition at the Shrine of the Book. Then see the scale model of the city as it was in the days of Jesus. Next, visit the Garden Tomb. Return to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 12 Departure

You will be transferred to the Ben Gurion Airport for your departure flight.
